GLYCERIN SOAP

Soaps in the glycerin category are made with humectant glycerin, an all-vegetable ingredient that draws moisture to the skin while it cleanses away impurities. The translucent nature of glycerin gives the soap a colorful gem-like quality. This formula also offers excellent fragrance retention, the ability to keep skin hydrated, and provides a wonderful lather. TRIPLE-MILLED SOAP

Also made from all-vegetable ingredients, this gently moisturizing soap goes through a “French” milling process to make it ultra-creamy and rich. Most of our bar soaps are made through this French triple-milled process, which means the formula goes through three stages of refinement to disperse the ingredients evenly throughout the bar. This process ensures that the skin-conditioning soaps provide a luxurious bathing experience from first to last use. THE BEST WAY TO USE BAR SOAPS

Bar soaps lather best when used with warm water. Take the soap and rub it between your hands for a few seconds to generate a lather and apply to either your washcloth, loofah, or even directly to the body. Continue to lather until the desired cleanliness is achieved and rinse thoroughly.

Proper storage in between uses is key to helping your bar soap live its longest life. Keep the bar in a spot that allows any excess water to drain, such as a soap dish with an elevated holder, a wire rack, or somewhere that doesn’t collect water. The bar should be able to dry between uses to prevent cracking and color degradation, keeping the bar looking and performing its best.

5 Ways to get the Best Bloom of Fragrance

Thymes reed diffusers are an elegant, flame-free way to spread your favorite home fragrance throughout your environment. That’s because reed diffusers require no heat source to release wonderful aroma, making them safe for use in classrooms, offices and homes—especially those with small children. How do reed diffusers work? By wicking scented diffuser oil from inside the bottle, carrying it to the top surface of the reeds and releasing the fragrance into the air. Contained in artfully designed glass containers, they make an appealing accent for almost any décor.

TIPS ON CARE AND TENDING FOR YOUR REED DIFFUSER:

Choose the right vessel.

Many reed diffuser containers look great, but they don’t all throw fragrance as effectively as the ones Thymes has designed specifically for this purpose. Custom created to bloom fragrance evenly and enduringly, Thymes reed diffuser vessels are crafted to hold an optimal level of diffuser oil. The opening is also the ideal size for diffusing fragrance.

If you use your own vessel, select one with the right proportions. The reeds should extend from the vessel at least as much as the vessel’s height, but not so much that they’re apt to topple over.

Place in the right spot.

Air movement from outside or the motion of your household helps circulate the scent, creating the ideal “throw” of fragrance. You may need to make adjustments if your room has an active A/C, air-exchange system or frequent door usage to the outside.

Flip your reeds.

Rattan reeds work to wick the scented oils from the container to the air, producing the fragrant impact you desire. By flipping them regularly, you’ll keep the scent at its freshest and most fragrant.

Adjust scent to the desired intensity.

To either heighten or lessen the fragrance level, simply increase or decrease the number of reeds placed in your vessel.

Refresh your reeds regularly.

Once the reeds become saturated, their cells get clogged, reducing their ability to wick and throw fragrance. And placing used reeds into another fragrance diffuser oil will impede a pure scent transfer. Reeds can be easily replaced, so be sure to keep some on hand. FINDING THE ROOTS

How do you visually capture an essence of a fragrance in packaging? Our design team decided the best way was to begin at the roots and began researching how vanilla was grown. We went back to where vanilla originally grew in Mexico, and soon discovered the secret to the vanilla bean scent that exists today. According to the story, vanilla orchids grow on a vine, and only bloom one morning a year. It was here that a tiny little bee, known as the melipona bee, pollinated the gorgeous orchids. The orchids must exist for the vanilla bean to exist. Without the insight of the melipona bee to pollinate the gorgeous orchids, vanilla beans might not exist today. We knew that this little melipona bee would need to be part of our new packaging. The packaging is a beautiful artist's watercolor done in soft cozy tones, while capturing the allure of the beautiful orchid and the melipona bee.

REINVENTING THE ORDINARY

Our fragrance designers wanted to reinvent a vanilla fragrance all while creating an aura of charm and allure. A reviewer recently wrote "Now here’s a vanilla fragrance I can wear every day – a new vanilla, rounded out with a creamy, floral accent." HOW TO RE-USE YOUR MILLEFLEUR FLOWER POT CANDLE:

1. After your Millefleur candle is finished burning, make sure wax cools off. Then, the wax and wick should be easy to scoop out and remove from the container. You may need a tool to dig it out, such as a spoon or butter knife. From there, remove remaining wax by wiping the flower pot with a paper towel, then hand wash to remove any excess wax with warm, soapy water.

2. Gather fresh dirt. It’s also useful to use a plastic plant liner (found at garden stores) for the inside of your pot, which helps drain water away from plant roots.

3. Have some beautiful seeds ready for planting! The Flower Pot Candle comes packaged with a seed envelope, containing ready to plant Forget-Me-Not seeds! Or you can use any other seeds that inspire you...such as herbs or other small plants.
