In order to get the simplest soap, you need only three components: water, caustic soda and animal or vegetable fat. Its composition also contains alkali, but do not be afraid of its presence, because it is thanks to it that all the dust and dirt accumulated by the sebum dissolves. Over time, synthetic additives such as stabilizers, dyes, fragrances, preservatives and builders were added to the soap, thanks to which modern soap is stored longer and has a good foam. Such additives are not terrible for our body and if you are interested in whether it is possible to use ordinary solid soap during pregnancy, then of course it is possible, but if you are not allergic to certain components, it is best to choose natural soap. As for washing, our skin is not always grateful for washing with soap, dry skin and even allergies can occur.
What is soap?
Baby soap
It cannot be said that such a soap is 100% safe, but compared to conventional means, its manufacturing technology is much more rigidly regulated. There are no dyes in baby soap and emollients are added, such as extracts of chamomile, calendula, thyme and lanolin. This soap is ideal for people with sensitive skin, as well as it can be used during pregnancy.
Cosmetic soap
Toilet (or cosmetic) soap performs two important functions simultaneously: cleans and cares. As part of this tool you can often find such components as creams (cream soap), glycerin, vegetable oils, lanolin, as well as extracts of medicinal plants.
Exfoliating soap (soap scrub)
In such a soap, special solid microparticles will be added, thanks to which dead skin cells will be removed from the skin surface. These particles can be either natural (raspberry seed, ground coffee, etc.) or synthetic (polyethylene). Soap scrub is absolutely not suitable for daily use, it is created more as an alternative to the usual scrub and you can use this soap a couple of times a week.
Perfume Soap
Already in name it is clear that in such a soap the main thing is its fragrance. You should not hope that with such a tool you can save on perfumes, because the smell after its use will be unstable. But it can be put, for example, in a drawer with underwear as a flavoring.
Antibacterial
And again the name reveals the purpose of this tool. The use of antibacterial soap for daily use is extremely not recommended because it contains quite aggressive components, such as triclosan, which can destroy up to 90% of living microorganisms. It can be used as a denzifitsiruyushchy means and to take with itself, for example, in a campaign or a trip. If you use it every day, then you risk depriving the skin of moisture and immunity.
Natural soap
This soap is often confused with handmade soap, but it is not exactly the same thing. If the product is of bright color and with a delicious smell, then it is cooked on a so-called basis with the addition of dyes and fragrances (essential oils of green apple cherries, peaches, etc.). Handmade soap is created on the basis of fats with the addition of caustic soda and its quality mainly depends on the quality of the used products and recipes.
What should I look for when choosing a soap?
1. The best soap - of course, natural. This tool is much more effective to cleanse the skin than, for example, liquid soap, which contains a much larger number of chemical components. To create handmade soaps instead of cheaper oils like palm or coconut, they use more expensive ones, such as jojoba, shea or mango oils. In addition, natural soap simply does not tolerate high humidity, therefore, requires special storage in a dry container, while it is useful to wrap it in parchment paper.
2. Choose a solid soap. The fact is that in the liquid soap contain surface-active substances, and they, in turn, can cause such unpleasant consequences as peeling of the skin or irritation.
3. Soap instead of shower gel. If you want the purification to be deeper, then you can forget about the gels. Choose for this purpose a soap scrub and massage the skin with gentle movements. It is better not to use the washcloth, because in winter our skin is already dry and prone to flaking.
4. If you have sensitive skin, then you should pay attention to the dermatological soap, which does not contain in its composition the soaps components. Thanks to ingredients such as glycerin and petrolat, dry skin will be restored and will become soft and silky.
